About the Piece
A striking vintage royal-blue opaque Bohemian glass vase made for the Persian and Middle Eastern market, richly decorated with multicolored enamel and gilt. The bell-shaped body is painted in yellow, amber, green, red and white, with floral ornament, scrolling details and portrait medallions recalling Qajar-period taste.
The vessel has a waisted neck, ribbed detailing and a gently flared rim, creating an elegant architectural profile. The saturated cobalt-blue ground provides a dramatic contrast to the hand-painted enamel and gilded highlights. Display it as a flower vase or as a decorative glass object within a collected, Orientalist, Bohemian or eclectic interior.
