About the Piece
Large vintage Moroccan Moorish chandelier handcrafted from pierced and hand-hammered brass with a rich, dark bronze patina. Dating to approximately 1940, this impressive pendant light features intricate floral and geometric openwork accented by small jewel-toned red and blue glass cabochons. Its elongated, sculptural form and delicately pierced metalwork create beautiful patterns of light and shadow when illuminated. Measuring six feet in overall height, this monumental Moroccan chandelier is especially suited to a grand entry hall, staircase, vaulted room or other high-ceilinged interior. The pierced brass body measures approximately 59 inches high. The overall height, including the three short suspension chains, is 72 inches, with a diameter of 28 inches. Rewired in the United States, in working condition and ready for installation. Wear and variations to the hand-applied bronze patina are consistent with age and contribute to the chandelier’s authentic character.
