About the Piece
Large Moroccan Moorish pendant chandelier, handcrafted circa 1940 from pierced and hand-hammered brass with a rich, dark bronze patina. This impressive six-foot-tall light fixture features intricate hand-cut floral and geometric openwork accented with jewel-toned red and blue glass cabochons. When illuminated, the pierced brass chandelier produces a warm atmospheric glow and casts delicate patterns of light and shadow. Its unusually tall, narrow proportions make it an exceptional statement light for a grand entry hall, staircase, vaulted room or other high-ceilinged interior. The brass chandelier body measures approximately 59 inches high and 28 inches in diameter. Overall height is 72 inches, including the original three-point suspension chains. Additional chain may be installed between the existing suspension and ceiling canopy to accommodate the desired hanging height. Rewired in the United States, tested, in working condition and ready for hardwired installation. The aged bronze patina displays natural surface variation and wear consistent with age and use. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended. Two chandeliers are available and sold individually.
