19th century Middle Eastern Islamic Moorish pierced brass and copper floor lamp. Beautiful Middle Eastern Islamic Syrian, Persian style brass floor lamp is handcrafted with Moorish calligraphy Arabian designs. Extremely fine antique Islamic floor brass lamp with Kufic Mamluk revival pierced foliate openwork’s chased and chiselled with Arabic calligraphy and figures. The Moorish brass shade is intricately hand-pierced with Islamic Tuluth writing and designs. Great exquisite Middle Eastern Asian Museum quality piece, beautiful desirable patina. Same floor lamp could be found at the Doris Duke Islamic Art Museum. Hand-hammered decorative collector Islamic brass Moorish folk art Antique 19th century Middle Eastern floor lamp, Rising from wide trumpet foot through to slightly tapering cylindrical shaft with two pronounced collars to gently flaring mouth and flat rim, the shaft with pierced openwork lattice containing scrolling vine issuing from cusped palmettes, bordered above and below by bands of engraved scrolling floral vine, the upper section of the foot and the body below the mouth with further pierced openwork sections in rectangular cusped cartouches with similar design set in a ground of engraved scrolling floral vine, interlocking palmettes and stylized cloud bands, band of verses. This large floor Moorish candle holder has been rewired into a floor lamp. Great brass and copper decorative Moorish Islamic art object Dimensions 21" W × 21" D × 70" L.
