Vintage Moroccan Taznakht Berber Wool Rug in Burnt Orange, circa 1960s

A striking vintage Moroccan Berber rug from the Taznakht region, handwoven in wool circa the 1960s. Its saturated burnt-orange field, intricate borders, and elongated proportions give this one-of-a-kind North African carpet a commanding decorative presence.

Three prominent medallions anchor the composition: a central eight-pointed star flanked by two elaborate geometric motifs. Smaller ornaments punctuate the orange ground, while patterned corner panels and multiple borders frame the design. Black outlines contrast with golden yellow, cream, sage, and jade-green accents, creating a richly layered palette with subtle variations throughout the wool pile.

Handcrafted by Amazigh (Berber) women in Morocco, this mid-20th-century Taznakht carpet reflects the individuality of traditional weaving. Its expressive pattern, warm colors, and tactile surface lend character to Mediterranean, bohemian, and Mid-Century Modern interiors.

Measuring approximately 6 feet 5 inches wide by 16 feet 6 inches long, this generously proportioned Moroccan wool rug is particularly suited to a spacious gallery hallway, an elongated living room, or a large dining area. Its distinctive scale and vivid orange palette make it an exceptional foundation for an interior furnished with antique wood, leather, and sculptural decorative objects.

Hand-selected for the MOSAIK collection, this vintage Berber carpet offers enduring craftsmanship and the individual character of a handmade textile.
